Bio-sketch

Dr. Casado recently obtained her Ph.D. in Toxicology from University of Rochester. She received a B.Sc. in Chemistry (2003) from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, followed by a M.Sc. in Forest Biotechnology (2006) from Michigan Technological University and a M.Sc. in Toxicology (2009) from University of Rochester. She is a member of the Society of Toxicology and the College of Chemists of Peru.

She is interested in the responses of stem cells to changes in their environment. Additionally, she is interested in developing safer and cost-effective diagnostics and therapies for neglected diseases.

Additionally to her scientific training, she is familiar with approaches to enter social and ethical deliberations surrounding Biotechnology through The Debating Science Program sponsored by the National Science Foundation. Also, she has taken Advanced Courses from the World Intellectual Property Organization on Biotechnology and Patent Search.
