JFK Visits Hanford for N Reactor Groundbreaking

On September 26, 1963 President John F. Kennedy visited the Hanford Nuclear Site to dedicate the groundbreaking of the steam generator for the N Reactor, a dynamic addition to the Hanford Site that served as both a producer of electrical power for the public and plutonium for atomic bombs. The N Reactor was the first dual producer reactor in the United States.
