Overview

António Joaquim Ferreira da Silva was born Oliveira de Azemeis, July 28, 1853, near the city of Porto, in northern Portugal and died August 23, 1922. During his research and academic life, Ferreira da Silva made notable achievements in analytical chemistry, particularly at the interface of toxicology with hydrology, food science and forensic analysis.
